I strongly admire what you are doing.
I live in a nearly cash-free society, the Netherlands. Interestingly, the government is trying to delay the move away from cash, precisely because it's hard on poor people and the homeless.
So people ask me for money, and sometimes I have none, because I forgot to bring any. Which I hate.
I spent thirty years in New York City and gave away money to people on the street every day. I've been lucky, they haven't. And I have no issue with the idea that they are spending money on alcohol and drugs. Life is hard.
And the Netherlands has homeless people too.
So I try to remember to bring cash. The good part is that there are €1 and €2 coins here.
