I think you missed the point.
The original poster got screwed. But instead of taking a look at the company and saying, “Ah, the whole company’s business model is built on flouting the laws,” instead the writer only wants justice for them themselves in this one specific case.
This is not in the slightest admirable — it’s just selfish.
And I would add, it’s hard to see this as a real injustice. AirBNB makes it really obvious where they are at and how they operate. If you do business with a company that is evil to others, you shouldn’t be surprised if they are evil to you as well.
So I’m going to save my indignation for the poor bastards who live next door to an apartment that has suddenly become an unregistered hotel and for the people who are forced out of their home city because so many living spaces have been taken off the market.
