I too lived in Montreal, though about three decades before. However, Canada did not feel so pro-American at the time. There was a lot of hostility to the US over Vietnam (there were a lot of draft dodgers there) and over Reagan, may his grave be a toilet. I was soon to be turned on to The Clash and other radical rock music, and I started to realized that things were definitely not as they seemed.

And now, decades later, I'm more radical than I ever was, and almost everything else has moved far to the right. I am an apostate of the religion of technology now, though I type this on a computer.
