I tried for literally decades to persuade conservatives, using compassion, logic, the bonds of friendship, and enlightened self-interest.

In all that time, I persuaded ONE person, around 2002 — and he wasn’t a Republican but a rational libertarian. (I lost touch with him when I left the US and a few years later his email stopped working. :-/)

(Yes, I do believe that it’s possible to cure people of racism, just racism, by exposing them to individuals of other races in a warm and supportive environment, and there is some evidence that I’m right. But that isn’t curing conservatism.)

How well has your strategy worked? How many people have you rescued? Do you know anyone else who has been successful?
