All the languages you have discussed are procedural languages: yes, even Cobol or VB. But there are other, entirely different languages.
In particular, functional programming is older than procedural programming and very different. Lisp is the original parent, dating back to 1959; modern implementations include Clojure and Common Lisp.

I tried to figure out how many programming languages I have written serious code in: I gave up. The number is probably over two dozen including languages you have never heard of like GPSS, Snobol, and the MOO programming language, but then I've been programming for almost fifty years now. And yes, I did write quite a lot of Fortran but no, almost no Cobol.
