I was unable to get through many if any complete episodes of that show.
Living in New York City during the show's whole run, I found the whole thing to be like some parody of the city, a reflection in a Wonder Bread mirror written by someone who never had less than a million dollars in the bank at any time.
Where are all the non-white people? The actually poor people? The queers and freaks that make NYC what it is?
That apartment would rent for $10k these days, $5k when the show was filmed, and you would count yourself lucky to find it, if you had that money.
Give me Barney Miller any day.
