I was under the impression that most modern Christian theologians were strict monotheists and did not believe in the existence of other gods outside the Trinity, and searching seems to confirm that.

As I pointed out before, the inability of people even within the same religion to agree even on answers to big and very basic questions like, "How many Gods are there?" makes it very hard for an outside observer to know what we are even supposed to believe.
