If you can't check out your repo on a new machine, your source control system is worthless.

So you're claiming that Git's LFS just doesn't work at all.

I'm somewhat skeptical. If it's so thoroughly broken, then why would anyone use it in the first place? What's the point of a source control system where you can't get the files back again?
