I'm a mathematician and computer programmer. You won't find too many people who know about computers or security who are happy with the idea of internet voting.
Paper ballots aren't perfect but their failings are well-known and we have centuries of experience in dealing with them. And they have this very strong property - you have to forge votes one at a time, you can't just add a million votes with a program.
I don't know if I agree with that quote that internet voting cannot eventually be made secure - it might one day be possible - but I am sure that that day is a long, long way away.
