I'm almost 60. When I try to describe to young people today how easy my generation had it, they basically can't understand it.

When I went to school in a major urban center, the minimum wage was $3.13 and our 1-bedroom cost $235. My girlfriend worked making sandwiches a few nights a week and summers and made enough money to support herself and pay tuition. I made a little more marking papers.

Today, the rent on that same place is almost $2000, over eight times as much, but minimum wage isn't even three times as much.

Tuition is some insane multiple.

Out of school, everyone just walked into a career job if they wanted, or if they wanted to work part-time and pursue some artistic field, this too was possible.

Now four unrelated adults will shared a two-bedroom in a major city, two beds to a room.

Young Americans are incredibly tough and are getting more and more desperate every day. Your idea of "snowflake culture" is the purest bullshit.
