I'm not quite sure why "ignorance of the matter at hand" should be considered a virtue.

If you have no idea why people hate this broadcaster, then why are you chiming in in the first place?

This idea that freedom of speech should mean freedom from consequences from that speech is bizarre and unjustified.

If a comedian went off on, say, some explicit fantasy involving necrophilia and Her Majesty, they'd instantly be "cancelled" everywhere, and rightly so.

GB News's relentless lying has caused unbelievable damage to the United Kingdom, and so is roundly hated by a lot of people, for good reason. Cleese's appearance on their channel will boost them and bring them money and increase their reach.

I might add that the impoverishment of the British people to the great advantage a tiny number of rich right-wing sociopaths has generated huge resentment from tens of millions of Britons who were the losers in that deal.

I shan't be back, but I was lucky to escape. It's miserable in Britain now, and this winter will be a particularly miserable one for most there, and Cleese is publicly siding with the very architects of that misery, and so a lot of people hate him, and he deserves it richly.
