I'm so sorry this happened to you. My parents have been dead for getting on thirty years and I still miss them.

I lived for three decades in New York City and I knew countless musicians. People took every drug under the sun, and as night follows day, some of them had negative consequences - but the number one destroyer of lives was always alcohol.

My grandfather was an alcoholic, and so my father was mostly a teetotaller. My uncles (on the other side of the family) were all steady drinkers who lived to a ripe old ages. Up until a year ago, I'd drink every day - mostly very little, a half beer or a whole one, definitely more if I went out, but something almost every day.

But then for no reason at all I just lost interest. I suppose this is good, as I'm approaching being "old", but I sort of miss it.
