I'm sorry, but this article is worse than useless. And I'm being polite.

You make a huge claim, and don't prove it at all.

In fact, carbon credits are a total scam - example.

We can't fix our problems by continuing to consume at an exponentially increasing rate, and then paying a tiny amount of money so small you don't notice it.

You're spending $10US a month per person in your family and you pretend that this completely counterbalances your huge footprint on this planet.

It's wildly false, and it's morally irresponsible.

The only possible solution to the impending destruction of the ecosystem is for humans to dramatically reduce their consumption.

You end up saying, "We just need to act" but in fact your article details your complete refusal to act or to change your life in any significant way.

This is called "moral licensing". You spend a tiny amount of money you don't even notice, and suddenly you're allowed to do any wasteful thing you please.

No claps. This article is horrifying. You have three kids! Do you really not understand what horrors they will face in the future if we do not cut down our obsessive consumption and waste production?
