I’m sorry, but this is not what America believes.
The US has been at war more or less continuously for generations now. Millions of innocent people have died, dozens of countries have been set back generations, tens of trillions of dollars wasted.
And there is no anti-war movement to speak of today. Sure, many Democrats protest Republican wars, but who came out to protest the US’s invasion of Libya, Syria or Yemen? Indeed, both political parties vie to see who can give the Pentagon more money.
(Hat tip here to the brave Americans who protested the Vietnam War and actually made a difference. Some suffered greatly, a few died and many served hard time, and they have lived to see themselves reviled and lied about, and their lessons completely ignored. It was still worth it, just for that one victory to cherish.)
No one seems to care when the US just murders people it doesn’t like, even if they are US citizens or even a US citizen who also happens to be a child.
And this has gone on for generations.
Don’t even get me started on the systematic genocide of the native peoples of the United States of America, because it’s a lovely Sunday and I don’t need to start crying.
So don’t bullshit us. Murder and war have always been completely desirable and acceptable in the United States, as long as the victims are generally considered worthless, like unionists, negroes, gooks, towelheads or savage Red Indians.
