In general, I am completely against guns, but if I were a person of color in America in 2022, I'd be certain to take full advantage of the law to be able protect myself and my family against murderous racists, particularly given centuries of at best indifference and at wost active hostility on the part of the American police forces towards non-whites.
However, it probably won't end in gun control. It isn't 1967, and the Republicans are too far gone.
Now their response won't be Reagan's, "We should take the guns away from these uppity [African-Americans]," but instead, "We will outgun them and win."
A healthy society should be strongly trying to reduce its citizens' access to lethal weapons, but once that has failed, individuals and families are forced by practicality to do things they might philosophically be opposed to.
