In my current project, never, but we have a very small team so I emit the majority of the pull requests anyway.

I realized afterward that another thing is that there will often be some unrelated, tiny, atomic commits at the start of medium-sized, often documentation tweaks I see while preparing.

This also deals with the tiny commit issue, but in organizations that prohibit unrelated commits in a pull request, which isn't necessarily unreasonable, this isn't a solution.
