Indeed, I'd say that this ended up being a net negative for most people of color.
"Prejudice can't be real, America elected a Black President," say the yobbos.
And yet the poorest people in America steadily lost ground in his Administration, just like the administrations before and after. Lawless police officers kill people of color at whim and with impunity and that didn't change either.
And "not seeing color" is pretending that prejudice isn't real, or isn't important. "If we pretend it isn't there, it will go away."
