Is it your impression that after World War 2 we tried to find common ground with the Nazis? Let me assure you that this is not the case.

In fact, we tried the Nazi leaders in open court, executed a lot of them and jailed a lot more. The free peoples of the world carefully documented all the Nazi crimes and embarked on a process of de-Nazification where we forced the Germans to confront what they had actually done.

Now, what common ground exactly are we going to have with the Trumpistas?

Have you ever sat down and tried to have a nice chat with them? Perhaps you should do that a bit before writing such an article.

They believe all the world's doctors are in a conspiracy about COVID in order to damage Donald Trump's re-election chances. They believe all the world's scientists are in a conspiracy about climate change in order to damage America.

They believe almost all the world's newspapers are printing a pack of lies carefully orchestrated by a group of rich and powerful pederasts involving George Soros and powerful US democrats.

They believe that it's a huge advantage to be Black in America, and the reason that African-Americans underperform economically and are more likely to be in jail is because African-Americans are intrinsically lawless and stupid.

None of these are fringe beliefs amongst Republicans.

Try it out yourself! Go to your favorite Trump-supporting Republican and say, "Is it an advantage to be white in America today?" and "Why is it that black neighborhoods are poorer and have more crime?"

What is this common ground going to be? You don't tell us, and that's because it doesn't exist.
