It was possible, decades ago, to tell racist jokes and only be a thoughtless clod.

Isaac Asimov was quite the jokester; he never told any out-and-out racist jokes (i.e. punching down hard) but he told a lot about various groups).

One day he started to tell a long-standing Italian friend a joke, and the friend said, "Wait, I have one for you! Q: What's black and blue and floats down the river? A: A Jew who tells Italian jokes."

Asimov got the message and stopped doing it. That was almost 50 years ago. There's no excuse in 2021.

Sorry for monopolizing your page, I have too much time. I just got a new job, so hopefully that will find work for idle hands.
