It's been three weeks since you wrote this. New cases continue to grow exponentially. Deaths continue to grow exponentially, lagging new cases, exactly as you would expect.

If you were correct, one would have expected new cases and deaths to decrease, not increase.

Can you make some prediction as to when new cases and deaths will start decreasing?

What do you think the daily death rate will be by the end of December? Right now, it's about 8000 deaths a week - or two 9/11s.

My prediction is that it will continue to rise and hit 12,000 deaths a week by the end of the year.
