It's funny, but I've been programming for well over 40 years, and I got pretty bored about 25 years ago, but things got more exciting with better technology and the internet.
I moved continents and spent a couple of years unemployed, and I wrote code for fun almost every single day. Yes, there are weeks when I say, "Why do I do this?" but I so far have always regained by moxie.
I do other things, like compose music (I used to perform but I haven't since I moved) and study languages, but my chief hobby is still programming.
Nothing wrong with you!, I think I'm insanely lucky.
Programming is an objectively dull activity - it's like being paid to solve crossword puzzles in a foreign language. When people ask me if should study programming, I tell them, "It's a good career, but you should only do it if you actually enjoy it quite a lot, because otherwise you will burn a decade before you retire."
