It's not just that they haven't got a solid majority - it's that they started off well for a few months and then just... stopped delivering.

The mainstream Democrats control the party, and they are implacably hostile to any change to the status quo. But the United States is crumbling, and the status quo must change.

So they simply don't deliver, and hope that "We're not the Republicans!" is a strong enough brand to win yet another election.

I fear the worst.
