When I was a young ‘un, I used to read his Eternal Champion series obsessively. It hasn’t aged quite as well as Fritz Leiber (another pioneer of sword-and-sworcery but not really of steampunk, except for the somewhat disturbing “Catch That Zeppelin”) did but it still holds a warm place in my heart.
