Kinda, kinda not.

The American scientist Eunice Newton Foote published a paper in 1856 showing that water vapor and CO2 trapped thermal radiation, and measuring the phenomenon. She also theorized that a higher level of CO2 in the atmosphere would lead to higher temperatures.

Foote was forgotten until 2010 when someone unearthed her paper.
