Lithium and phosphate are not a source of energy. Lithium goes into batteries that store energy from other sources, mostly fossil fuels as of today.

To stop fossil fuel, we need to reduce our energy consumption dramatically as well as emphasizing non-emitting energy sources, like solar, nuclear, wind, tidal, hydroelectric (though there won't be more hydro power coming online, the world is maxed out).
