Drop this whole "These are decent people who wanted to get things done" schtick.

These people you write about are criminals. They worked for a criminal administration, run by a lifelong career criminal, a malignant narcissist and compulsive liar.

Working for the Wall Street Journal, you've spent your life writing fawning articles about criminals and psychopaths, so I suppose you have simply lost your sense of perspective. But when the history of this sorry time is finally written, the corruption of the media and the abrogation of its responsibilities will be front and center.
