Musk's own actions have created a situation where there are a lot of people who would like to buy an electric car that would not under any circumstances purchase a Tesla.

Whether it's Nissan or some other company, someone will emerge to fill this need.

While electric cars are better than gas cars, they aren't the solution at all. The only solution to the climate crisis is degrowth, including public transportation and walkable cities and bikes.

We probably won't do these things, unfortunately, we'll kill ourselves and our biosphere instead, but people should know that an alternative exists.
