My grandfather spent years in a Fascist prisoner-of-war camp, though survived relatively unscathed, and now I live in a city where everywhere there are little memorials to its tens of thousands of citizens who were dragged away by Fascists to expire miserably in death camps.

And now it's come back to us vs them again, and I know which side I am on.
