My wife and I don't have kids, by choice, but that doesn't mean we think this is a good idea for society!
A society without children has no future - by definition.
One of the things I really do like about Amsterdam is all the children here - and, unlike the kids in the United States, who seem old and cynical beyond their years, they are fearless and energetic and silly.
And yet this city and the country of the Netherlands are gripped by a housing crisis so grave we were unable to find anywhere to live after months of looking (not helped, mind you, by the fact I'm self-employed, even though I earn more than 90% of Dutch people).
How do our Lords and Masters expect the next generation to cope? I have no idea and I think they don't, either.
Very best wishes. Sorry, the offer to come and visit us in Amsterdam has expired! 😛, but when we're settled in France, we'll let you know.
