My wife hadn't seen any of the Star Wars movies, so I showed her the "first" three, which is to say IV, V and VI.

Man, those films did not age well for me. The scripts are just terrible, the plots childish, but also, the whole hereditary superman thing now seems much creepier. About the best I could say is that some of the actors did somewhat better than the material they had.

I watched IV something like 17 times, so this was quite a shock to me.

And those were the "good" Star Wars films. I remember almost nothing of Phantom Menace except boredom and irritation.
