No, we cannot continue exponential growth in consumption forever just by flicking a switch marked "renewables".

Don't get me wrong - I'm wildly in favor of renewables, but please consider that as renewables have grown, fossil fuels have continued to grow too, just a bit slower.

Our only hope is degrowth - and of course, moving away from fossil fuels to renewables on top of that.
