Not at all.

Firing someone because they have asked for a raise after twelve years would be offensive from anyone.

When it's the richest man in the world, it's literally sociopathic.

(I should add that in Europe, this would be flat-out illegal.)

The advice should be, "Do not work for sociopaths", and "Do everything to prevent sociopaths getting a position of power," and not, "Never ask for anything out of fear some cruel evil person will be irrationally offended."
