Oh, it's impossible for the Earth to go the way of Venus.

Earth's atmosphere is 0.04% carbon dioxide but Venus' air is 96.5% CO2. Also, Venus gets over three times as much solar radiation per unit area as the Earth because it's almost twice as close to the Sun.

Don't get me wrong, we'll devastate the biosphere, kill a million species and most of humanity, it won't be good, but we won't be Venus II either.
