Older person here.

Through compulsive consumption, our generations put the younger generation onto a collision course with doom.

In my lifetime alone, we've killed more than half of the wild mammals; more than half of the non-domesticated birds; more than half of the flying insects; nearly all of the aquatic mammals; the list is endless.

A disastrous amount of CO2 is in the atmosphere already, committing us to a devastating 2ºC temperature increase even if we stopped emitting CO2 immediately. But in fact our emissions increase exponentially every year. It seems certain we are on path to a catastrophic change which will decimate the world population.

I tried a little harder perhaps than my contemporaries. But it wasn't enough and now we have destroyed their future.

Young people have every right to be enraged at the older generation - particularly feckless, arrogant people such as yourself.
