OUR generation, you and I, destroyed our world. Not our grandparents - us.

We, our generation, could have decided, "Let's consume a lot less and attempt not to destroy our biosphere," but instead we were, "Consumerism is the only good, capitalism is its prophet, the free market is God!" and we put literally hundreds of billions of tons of waste into the atmosphere, hundreds of million of tons of plastic into the Earth's oceans alone, so that each drop of its ocean water anywhere in the world, from the Arctic through the Tropics down to the Antarctic, each drop of water in the world has little tiny pieces of plastic in it.

The greenhouse effect has been known for over 150 years. The science and math are at high school level.

And now we have pumped so much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere that disaster is certain, and we're still pumping out carbon dioxide, more every year.

Now if your argument is, "The science is wrong," then show me your numbers. Let's see you work out numerically how this is all going to play out from the basic, high-school principles of physics - how we're somehow going to keep pumping carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and not boil the planet. If you can't, then you are no more competent to claim that all of science is wrong than a man blind from birth is to drive a school bus.
