Andy Warhol encouraged people's extreme and dangerous lifestyles, and when they did die, he would never allow their name to be mentioned again, like Edie Sedgwick. When AIDS appeared, he cut off every gay person he knew and stopped going to restaurants where he thought the waiters might be gay. Yuck!
Warhol was a great artist but also a poisonous influence on the "art world".
Of course S.C.U.M. was serious. "Why would anyone really want to hurt men, good old men who are basically just nice guys?" is not a good argument.
