So almost 100 times as much JS as plain text?!

There is NO reason for more than 12k of markup, 8k of CSS (for the home page, maybe 24k for an entire site), and the real asshattery of it is that I’m not even sure the page warrants the presence of ANY JavaScript, apart from perhaps doing things theirs doesn’t like trapping the escape key to close the small screen “hamburger” menu.
