Sorry, sorry. I intended to comment on your article, which I agree with, but I haven't heard anyone call themselves that for a decade or more, since the wheels started coming off society.
Around Christmas of last year, I discovered that my wife hadn't seen Gone With The Wind, so we watched it. I was pleasantly surprised - it had not aged as badly as I feared.
The Black characters were a little stereotyped, but also real people with actual agency.
The underlying evil of the Confederate cause isn't pushed in your face, but is made very clear, and the horrible consequences of war are pushed in your face, as they should be.
Of course, this movie would be legitimately offensive if it came out today, but it's not surprising we have learned something in 83 years.
I would recommend it to anyone who is able to watch it by placing it in its historical context, and I wouldn't have said that last November.
