So let me get this straight.

You live in Las Vegas, a pathologically unsustainable city in the middle of the desert, a city which is only kept alive by continuously burning fossil fuels.

And you really don't care. Your claim is, "Species will go extinct, who cares?" - truly vile! - and "Science will solve everything, even though I personally know absolutely nothing about science."

You might note that the problems of CO2 production, pollution, and deforestation have been around since the 1960s, and yet we've made absolutely no progress towards fixing them with "science".

In particular, recycling is a lie.

None of the plastic in your plastic bottles is made of old plastic. In fact, almost no plastic is made of old plastic. Try to find any in your house - it's written on the label.

Now plastic is in everything — every drop of water in the ocean, even in the placentas of unborn fetuses. But you drink water out of plastic bottle instead of the tap because your husband likes it.

Again, you talk about science, and yet the consensus of science is that unless we cut back dramatically on our consumption, we'll devastate the planet.

You aren't interested in science. You know nothing about science. I'm a mathematician - I work with and socialize with scientists. Actual scientists are simply terrified by the future.

Your message is this. "I don't care. I have no kids, so fuck the next generation. I'll tell myself any lie that's convenient so I can simply consume obsessively for the rest of my life."

I hope you live to see the terrible consequences of your actions, but I'm sure you'd blame anyone other than yourself.
