So you missed the boat for once. I've read your whole series, and I have only heard of two of the artists in it, both on this page, together!
The Herbie Mann album was released on an Atlantic Records label, is actually good and also features the legendary Duane Allman. It was simply a time for skin on album covers.
The Shaggs are perhaps even more famous than Herbie Mann today, just for this one album, because it is so famously bad and weird.
If you listened to the other albums on your list, you'd turn them off in a few minutes as "not very good".
If you like fusion-style jazz, you'd keep playing the Herbie Mann album. And you might leave The Shaggs on, simply because you were paralyzed with confusion and horror.
