So you're saying that Americans should expect exactly the same thing that they've gotten for the last 40 years - when the Republicans are in power, they get huge numbers of evil things done, and when the Democrats are in power, they spend their time "herding cats" and getting nothing done because they "aren't centralized" or whatever the reason is this decade.

When you say, "This has positive features as well as negative ones," I simply shake my head in dismay. Complete refusal to change while losing over generations has no positive features at all.

I don't see this game playing out much longer, but then my wife and I arranged to leave the US when it was Clinton II vs. Trump and nothing I've seen since has convinced me the US is savable.
