Well, this was brilliant from start to finish.

Ah, one quibble — Mercury isn’t an operating system, thank goodness. You won’t be writing device drivers and that sort of thing, it’s at a much higher level. More, if you really want uptake, you need Mercury to run on the Big Two operating system families — Linux/Unix/BSD and Windows.

There isn’t an entirely good name for what Mercury is or will be — “master control program” might be a better one if you ask me (see also this old reference). But Mercury surely isn’t an operating system, and you’re going to confuse hardware and software people no end by claiming it is.

That’s a quibble, as I said. Where do we sign up? How and where are you developing the software for this?
