Strongly disagree here. The Civil Rights Movement in the US, the emancipation of women, the anti-Vietnam war demonstrations, pretty well every social protest movement that actually made any progress relied on wealthy and middle-class people coming together, mainly because poor people don't have the luxury of protesting.
