I still really am not sure what you're claiming, and how it's opposed to the original article, but at least you're addressing it.
The end is indeed nigh, for some value of "nigh" - humans will continue to pump carbon dioxide into the atmosphere until we break the climate and biosphere, if we haven't already.
In the 1970s, I was confident that we would deal with the greenhouse effect, as we called it back then, as well as all the other issues stemming from humanity's exponentially increasing consumption and pollution extended over centuries.
Fifty years later, it's obvious we won't change our ways at all, and the basic physics we've known since the 19th century will win.
I keep a low environmental footprint and I'm hoping to be dead of old age before the worst happens.
