Thanks for the kind words on my numbers!
Still, with a disparity of almost two orders of magnitude, I'm a bit skeptical about your friend's work.
Your bike looks lovely and before I moved to the Netherlands, would have been my target bike.
But I got a very Dutch bike. I sit upright. There's no derailleur - I have a sealed 8 speed rear hub which I never have to adjust. I have rear drum brakes, sealed, which I never have to adjust. The whole chain is also sealed. There are fore and aft mudguards.
A rear carrier that will support over 100kg is standard with it - a person could easily sit on it - and I added a pannier.
And like most Dutch bikes, my bike sits outside for months at a time.
Also - really nice - there's a rear wheel lock that holds my keys when it's open, so it's impossible to forget to lock the bike, and I can lock the bike in a few seconds if it's a safe neighborhood. (If I'm going to leave it anywhere where people can't see it, or for more than ten minutes, I have a separate chain.)
I literally use it for all my shopping and errands of every type.
