All of society is a big pyramid scheme, to be honest. With each dollar we make, we build up a huge environmental debt for future generations.

Also, look at cryptocurrencies. Since cryptocurrencies can't create dollars (or any other fiat currency), each dollar in profit that comes out of cryptocurrencies must come from some new investor putting dollars in, and this will always be the case.

And what is that but a classic pyramid scheme?
