The comments on this article are interesting, and some rather disturbing to be honest.
But I have to agree that the article would be a lot better if it acknowledged that some significant fraction of mainstream news stories contain misleading or false statements, or gross omissions, and some significant portion of these misstatements and omissions are introduced as policy, not by mistake.
And yes, Fox and Sinclair are particularly bad this way, but there are gross offenses in this regard from all over the political spectrum. If you got through both the Iraq War and the 2016 election without becoming deeply skeptical about the accuracy of your favorite news sources, then you either weren’t paying attention or have a poor memory.
As it is, the basic thrust of this article is more or less, “Everyone’s gone crazy and stopped believing the news media for no reason at all!” and everybody rightfully just laughs at this idea.
