The delusion was in the idea that cryptocurrencies provide more useful services than the big internet companies do.
As the writer of the original article argued persuasively, they have yet to offer any services useful to 99% of the world, and seem to be a huge Ponzi scheme.
DuckDuckGo provides no search engine services at all, they repackage other companies' search and add only anonymity. Last I checked, Bing was their biggest vendor, and after that, Yahoo.
To point to DDG, worthy though they are, as evidence that the world doesn't need large internet companies, shows a fundamental misunderstanding of what DDG actually does.
