The planet is not taking care of itself. We are killing it.
In my lifetime alone we've killed more than half the wild mammals; more than half the winged insects; more than half the aquatic mammals; more than half the sea creatures of any type that are bigger than my two fists put together.
And flecks of plastic can be found in all the water in the world. Every drop of water in the ocean now contains plastic.
We've also put as much CO2 into the air as we did in the previous 200 years of the industrial revolution. Water levels are driven by C02, and the last time the CO2 levels were this high, water levels were twenty feet above what they are today.
And we aren't slowing down. Oh, no! Thanks to you and people like you, we are accelerating the devastation of the planet.
You live in a desert. Without constant irrigation, there would be almost nothing alive around you. Every drop of water is brought to you with fossil fuels.
Las Vegas, your neighbor, is one the most unsustainable cities on the planet.
You and your husband seem pathologically selfish, to the point that you actually gloat about the damage you cause to the planet. If you weren't morally and ethically empty people, this idea would appall you.
I can only use the world "sociopath" for such an extreme indifference to the well-being of future generations.
You should hope your God should forgive you the consequences of your irresponsible actions. I won't, and future generations certainly won't.
