The reasoning is as always good.
My primary objection to both dark matter and dark energy is our lack of ability to demonstrate these in a laboratory setting, or indeed, to be able to directly observe either of these things anywhere in the universe.
It's funny - I was just reading today an old Asimov article about the neutrino, which when it was postulated (1930) was similarly lacking in evidence. But 26 years later, it was detected, and now we have neutrino observatories.
Dark matter was postulated only three years after that, and yet 85 years later we still know nothing about what it might be.
Dark energy is more recent, just 40 years old, but also suffers from lack of reification. Even the name is a bit janky - "dark force" might be better, because it's only the force we actually see.
Do I think dark matter or energy exist, or not? I have no idea. Possibly :-D More work is needed.
It's an exciting time to be alive - at least with respect to science. With respect to the future of humanity, not so much.
